Eurasia Central and Eastern Europe (ECEE) is a member of the Eurasia Consortium and represents the Consortium in Central Eastern Europe.
ECEE has two specific roles. The first is to act as a bridging organization between educational institutions, training centers, research centers, NGOs, employers associations and government agencies in Eastern Europe and similar institutions, centers, associations and agencies in the United Kingdom.
This division of the Consortium facilitates the creation of multilateral networks of higher education institutions with one purpose; to ensure continuing cooperation, mobility and exchange of best practices through training programs in differing subject areas. ECEE further helps to meet the demands for training programs in Eastern Europe with what British higher education institutions can offer, in the light of their traditions of excellence in the education field.
Given the particular global challenges facing the CEOs, young entrepreneurs and technicians in Eastern Europe and their often limited financial abilities to meet the costs of training in global and international business strategy and best practice in management, ECEE makes full use of the funding opportunities available under EC funding programs to their countries in support of such needs.
The benefits for the trainees in such training programs are:
- The development of management skills to support economic growth in a globally competitive European market place and to understand the workings of and meet the challenges of the global marketplace.
- To provide assistance on the formation of business networks and long-term relationships; adoption and dissemination of relevant good practices and innovations
- To increase the intercultural competencies among fellow participants and assist members from the host organizations and associations acquire knowledge and understanding of business trends and processes in transitional economies such as the Eastern European economies.
Second, ECEE identifies and tenders on behalf of clients bids for relevant EU finding opportunities. ECEE also provides a tailor made service to not only bid for funding but to also manage the project being funded until its conclusion. This involves:
- The identification of funding opportunities; Programs and donors research; Consultancy in the EC Structural Instruments and the national strategic documents 2007- 2013
- Project proposal development
- Co-ordination and administration of awarded projects
- Development of development strategies, municipal development plans, feasibility studies
Short-term twinning “Consolidating the civil society on the Balkans for effective implementation of the environmental acquis”. Twin partners - Bulgaria, Romania, Greece and Macedonia. Main objective - building capacity of the third sector to help reconcile the interests of the tourist industry with the principles of conservation and sustainable use of natural resources in areas with high biological diversity.
Other areas of expertise include:
- Support for the creation and commercialization of innovations in enterprises and protection of industrial property rights.
- Improvement of technologies and management in enterprises, with focus on technological modernization of the enterprises and compliance with internationally recognized market standards – introduction of quality management systems
